About Naija Poetry

9ja Poetry was created by Emmanuel Dangata and Atsen Barnabas on the 17th of March 2010 to promote the work of young Nigerian Poets and to bring life into the dreams and hope of young thinkers who spend time in building their natural ability to paint papers with ink so as to promote the livelihood of the country through poetry appreciation. The young poets can publish their poems as posts. Works by other great poets can also be posted.

Speak of arts-
And it's the power of arts.
Speak of myths-
And it has fascinating myths.
Speak of styles-
And it has several styles.
Speak of rhymes-
And look how it rhymes.
Speak of rhythms-
And listen to its rhythms
Speak of poems-
And life is a collection of poems...

LET IT RAIN

All thinkers can weep-
let it rain the waters
you whose heads are heavy
with imprisoned useful tears,
Let it flow like the Nile.

All thinkers can spit-
let it rain the vomit
you whose necks are chocked
with alphabetical codes,
shower them in words.

All thinkers are Pen-
let it rain the ink
you whose hands itch
rub it on white, on black,
on green, on blue...faces.

All thinkers are prophets
let it rain...
